Sri Kikkeri Narayana Devaraiah commonly known as Prof.Kikkeri Narayan or Prof.Kikkeri Narayna was born in Kikkeri , Krishnarajpet Taluk, Mysore on 2nd May 1949 .

Known for his high valued research on jenukurubas and tribal people he is one amony very few resourceful , talented , distinguished person for achievement in Linguistics and Nomadic Tribes.

Worked in very well known universities like Mysore University , Hampi University as professor and sharing his vast knowledge of linguistics he is also very well known for his field achievements in respective fields also.

He is the first person in India in order to get Ratan Tata Fellow award for research on tribal people.

For Bilingual Translation he was awarded withUNESCO award .

One NetherLand publication has published his work on tribal people has seen 5 times reprint also.

Starting his work from 1974 till date he has indulged himself in all fields related linguistic , literature , art fields and also making a distinguishable remark in fields he entered.

His spanned fields includes in writing, teaching , research, research camps,mass media, drama , translations, T.V Programmes, as Resource Person, writing stories, poems and lastly movies also.

ಪ್ರೊ. ಕಿಕ್ಕೇರಿ ನಾರಾಯಣ ಅವರು ೪೦ ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ವರ್ಷಗಳು ಬುಡಕ್ಕಟ್ಟು ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ,  ಭಾಷೆ,ಜೀವನ ಶೈಲಿ ಕುರಿತಾಗಿ ಸಮಗ್ರವಾಗಿ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡಿ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಕೃತಿಗಳನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರ ಕೃತಿ ಆಂಗ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದು ಒಂದು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಭಂಡಾರದಂತಿದೆ. ಜೇನು ಕುರುಬರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಇವರ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು.

ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಭಾಷಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾನಪದ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ತರಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರೊ.ಕಿಕ್ಕೇರಿ ನಾರಾಯಣ ತಮ್ಮ ದ್ವಿಭಾಷಾ ಪರಿವರ್ತನ ಮಾದರಿಗಾಗಿ ಯುನೆಸ್ಕೋ ಗೌರವವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದವರು. ಬುಡಕಟ್ಟು ಅಧ್ಯಯನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ರತನ್ ಟಾಟಾ ಫೆಲೋ ಗೌರವವೂ ನಾರಾಯಣ ಅವರಿಗೆ ದೊರೆತಿದೆ. ನೆದರ್ಲಾಂಡ್ಸ್ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿರುವ ಆದಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕುರಿತ ಇವರ ಪುಸ್ತಕವೊಂದು ಐದು ಮುದ್ರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡಿದೆ.
