Kannada alphabetic order is followed while describing the speech sounds in this book. To facilitate the kannada language learners and to appreciate the speech sounds of kannada, the approximate equivalent in urdu, Hindi, Marathi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telagu and English speech sounds are also given through examples, along with the kannada speech sounds described.
